2006 Leaving Cert Answers

Answers to paper 2 Leaving Cert(H&O) and junior cert (H) will appear on THursday 15th June.Many students found the part a's of the Higher Maths paper i very difficult in particular 1(a).3a.But in general the verdict was Ok.Paper 2 was a different story,many students and teachers(who should know better),were complaining about Q5(a).The following points should be noted.(i)Is the material in Q5(a)on the course? Answer yes! (syllabus page 9).(ii)Was the question particularly difficult? Answer no.(iii)Had many students not seen it before ?Answer yes !Reason Teachers had not bothered to cover the material in class(the most likely reason) or students decided to leave it out and as a result got caught out.Many of the students who complained had made a decision to do only questions 1,2,3,4,5,8 and not do 6,7 bad idea you should always have a question to spare .But do not worry as the ofending question may turn out to be worth very little in the end!Finally questions 1,2,3,4,8 were very nice much easier than last year so most people will do fine.
