Paper 1
There are 8 questions on this paper they will mark your best six. You may attempt all 8 questions if you have time, they will correct all your answers but they will only include the marks of the best 6 answers.

Paper 2
There are 7 questions in section A of which you must attempt 5. There are 4 questions in section B (the options) of which you must attempt one. All Questions are worth 50 marks

Marking Scheme
(1) Each question will be divided into three sections named (a), (b), (c). Sections (b) and (c) will themselves be divided into two sections (i), (ii).

(2) Section (a) will receive 10 marks. Sections (b) and (c) will receive 20 marks each that is 10 marks for part (b)/(c)(i) and 10 marks for part (b)/(c)(ii).

The exam is marked as follows:

If the correct answer is given it will receive full marks.
If an incorrect answer is given the question will be marked on "slips" and "blunders", what this means is that the corrector will read through your answer to find where you made your mistake. If the mistake is the result of a small "slip"(a small numerical error) you will only loose 1 mark .So it is possible to get 9 marks out of 10 for an incorrect answer!

If the incorrect answer is the result of a "blunder" (a mathematical error or an omission) you will loose 3 marks for each blunder but remember the same error in the same section is penalised only once!

If you have taken a step in the right direction of the answer, you will receive the attempt mark for that part of the question, no matter how many slips and blunders you have made, the attempt mark is 1/3 of the marks for that section of the question.

The attempt is the minimum mark you can get for a question provided you have taken one step in the right direction.
